Cannabis Reclassification - Important News

Many of you will be aware that current legislation surrounding Cannabis is due to change this month.  This will see the drug re-classified once again as a CLASS B substance, moving to the more sever category from CLASS C.  The change comes as recent evidence has linked its use to future mental health problems, and also due to the increasing strength of certain forms of 'skunk' that are currently available.

The change is particularly important if your organisation has any policy (perhaps smoking, alcohol and drugs, or drugs) that makes particular reference to the classification of drugs within it.  We would recommend therefore that any workplace policies to this effect are reviewed in light of the proposed change which id expected to come into effect on 26th January 2009.
