Principles
- REPRESENTATION
All employees, or a representative sample of employee sections/grades must be included in the process. Any information collected will therefore be an accurate reflection of the workplace population.
- OBJECTIVITY
- A range of questions is required to pull out all the key concerns and health issues of employees.
- In the workplace, individual lifestyle, environmental and organisational issues all interact to affect employee health. Therefore all areas need to be covered.
- Some questions may appear sensitive - don’t be afraid to ask them, but be prepared for honesty and to follow all issues through.
- CONFIDENTIALITY
Anonymity and confidentiality of all information collected must be assured. This will improve response rates, particularly for questionnaires.
- FEEDBACK AND ACTION
Feedback the results to all employees and develop a plan of action.
